twocents v1.1-9 is here

We just shipped twocents v1.1-9. There’s a lot of big changes in this one, so here’s what we have for you:

  • New onboarding - our main dev Esra built a beautiful new onboarding flow making it way easier to create an account and start adding banking/crypto connections

  • Notifications tab - much like X, this is one place to see all of your notifications like post/comment replies and votes, balance updates, connection changes, new post notifications, and more

  • Topics - much like subreddits, twocents posts can be posted into specific topics that you can subscribe to and mix into your feed. Anyone can start a new topic and anyone can view any topic. In the future we’ll make it easy to sign up for topic notifications so you can get notified every time someone posts in #SPY and etc.

  • Search tab - you can now search for words in posts as well as for new topics or subscribe to from the search tab

  • Swipe banner - several people gave feedback that it was difficult to learn how to quickly vote and reply to content, so we added a tutorial banner that shows up on first launch

  • Plaid bank and brokerage account pages now show a Session ID that can be useful for debugging

  • Fixed a bug where it was impossible to use the app if the first launch request failed (there’s now a retry button)

Topics is the last major engineering hurdle we had to jump before opening the floodgates. We’re now going to begin advertising aggressively and letting more people into the app every day. As always, keep posting and interacting with each other, it’s super rewarding seeing new content every time I open the app!
