twocents v1.1-18

changelog

Hello again! What a month, huh?

On June 1st we were hovering around 420 users, and our goal was to break 1000 users. Well, here we are at 1163! For those of you who are new here, there was a time where the feed felt dead for days on end - no more! Now people are posting every day, and twocents is really starting to feel like a niche community.

We've spent the month fixing a bunch of annoying bugs that should improve your quality of life:

  • Switching between tabs didn't work correctly

  • Heavily nested comments weren't readable

  • Sometimes the keyboard toolbar would disappear when creating a post

  • Don't treat $numbers as topics

  • In certain scenarios markdown didn't render correctly

  • Poll results weren't loading in the search tab

  • Sometimes the onboarding loaded forever

  • Links didn't open from comments

  • Topics couldn't be opened from inside posts

And a few tasteful changes:

  • Added OP tags to comments made by the post author

  • Added a faster way to reply to posts (bottom text input)

  • Comments are now sorted by highest upvoted by default

  • The topic is now autofilled in the create post modal using the last topic you posted with

    • Truncated poll options can be viewed in a popup overlay
  • Addition of Canada, DC, and Puerto Rico in state picker

  • Updating your city should use the new city selector control instead of the legacy one

  • (Beta) We're working on a way to fix connections that get disconnected during leaderboard refreshes. There's now a reconnect button inside those connection pages that should help you re-add that account. Submit feedback or message us on X @twocentinc if this isn't working for you.

  • Added a safety/privacy disclaimer page to the onboarding flow

Thank you all again for being early adopters. I hope now that we're starting to grow consistently, you're all going to see the unique [entertainment/serious] value twocents can add to your online discussions. And as always, thank you to Esra for working hard to help deliver these features.

See you in the next one!
